John Caldwell
Board of Education

John Caldwell

John Caldwell is a dedicated community leader in South Windsor, currently serving on multiple town boards and commissions. He is now running for the South Windsor Board of Education.

John believes that every dollar in the school budget belongs to the taxpayers, and that it is the Board’s duty to ensure those funds are allocated wisely. He champions balance and accountability in education, advocating for strong schools, smart budgets, and affordability for all South Windsor families.

For John, “holding the line” means standing up both for students and for taxpayers. It means making sure resources go where they are most needed — in classrooms, not bureaucracy. He pledges to always fight for accountability and common sense in education, to vote based on what’s best for students (even when that means breaking with party lines), and to support career and trade pathways as viable alternatives alongside traditional academic tracks.

In addition to his candidacy, John has been active in local civic life, serving as a member of the Parks & Recreation Commission, the Open Space Task Force, and the Town Council’s Open Space Subcommittee. Through these roles, he has worked to preserve community resources, strengthen recreational opportunities, and ensure that South Windsor’s growth is managed responsibly and with the future in mind.

John’s guiding mission is to hold the line for South Windsor’s future — defending educational excellence, fiscal responsibility, and multiple pathways for student success — so that the next generation can thrive in a balanced, sustainable town.
